What happens during treatment?
Initially a consultation is arranged to discuss the best treatment for you. The
procedure is explained and a treatment programme is planned. On treatment 1, 6 and
12 digital photos are taken to record the results. You remove jewellery and the
necessary clothing (usually down to your lingerie) before you lay on a treatment
couch, the area being treated is cleaned with a warm cloth, the appropriate treatment
gel is applied. This enables a metal wand to glide smoothly over the skin. The beautytek
machine reads the cells in the area of your body being treated and generates the
appropriate response to repair and sculpt the tissue. The treatment is painless
and relaxing. Some clients feel tingling sensations at certain points in their treatment,
as the current passes into the body. Clients having a facial treatment may experience
a metallic taste in their mouth, or flashing lights around the eye area (this is
why facial treatments are not suitable for people with epilepsy ). The gel is removed
and you get dressed.
How does the treatment work?
Beautytek is a non-invasive, body sculpting treatment combining Traditional Chinese
Medicine with modern technology. A low frequency electrical current, roughly the
same frequency as your heart beat, is passed through the body. This is achieved
by using specialised electrolyte gels and wands that glide over the area being treated.
This stimulates the body to breakdown fat and aids tissue repair. It is often compared
to being like a massage. It is pain free and relaxing. At last there is serious
alternative to cosmetic surgery.
How many treatments will I need?
Experience has shown that the number of treatments required varies from person to
person, but generally a course of 12 is recommended, unless you have cellulite in
which case, approximately 18 are needed. This is because hard, stubborn, fatty deposits
take longer to breakdown so they can be flushed out of the body. Two treatments
a week are required, these must taken at least one day apart – if you have a treatment
on Monday the next one may be taken on Wednesday. Your therapist will advise you
on the appropriate treatment.
How soon will I see results?
Some people see a result after just one treatment, but for lasting results a course
of 12 is recommended. To maintain and optimise these results a top up treatment
is advised every 3-4 months unless you smoke, where monthly top up treatments will
be needed.
How long do results last?
Fat reduction treatment is comparable to other methods of permanent fat reduction,
including surgery. So, as long as a sensible eating and exercise plan is followed
the results are permanent. Breast lifting treatment can last from between 3 months
to a year without maintenance sessions. If top up treatments are taken the results
are long lasting.
Can I have more than one area treated at a time?
Yes. Treating two areas next each other, eg; the bottom and the legs, can have significant
benefits. However, it is has been noted that treatment on one area will have positive
benefits on other areas, eg; treatment on the breast area can produce an improvement
on the waistline.
How long does a session last?
Treatment lasts approximately 45 to 90 minutes depending on the area being treated.
The legs and face programs take longer.
Can I still have treatment if I have breast implants?
Yes. Beautytek can help improve implants that have lost their shape. It is also
beneficial for healing scar tissue.
Do I need to diet or exercise?
Beautytek is effective without the need for strict diets or exercise programs. It
is advised that clients follow a balanced diet – reducing the amounts of saturated
fats eaten and increasing the intake of fruit and vegetables, where appropriate.
We suggest 30 minutes exercise each day, this can be broken down into 10 minute
bursts. It is important to drink 2 litres of water daily to keep the tissue hydrated
which helps obtain the best results from your treatment.
Are there any side effects or pain?
Beautytek achieves dramatic effects comparable with invasive cosmetic surgery but
without the associated risks or side effects. No recovery time is needed. During
and after treatment you may feel the urge to go to the toilet more frequently. This
is normal and indicates the treatment is working.
In what circumstances would Beautytek treatment NOT be possible?
The exceptions are: pregnancy, breast feeding, those suffering from cancer, liver
disease, thrombosis, epilepsy (for facial treatment only) or clients with pacemakers.
Clients who have large metal implants, such as artificial hips cannot be treated
on that area, but can have treatment on other areas. Clients who feel unwell, usually
have low energy so may not get the best from their treatment. Your therapist will
discuss any medication you are taking.
